UPDATE: Baldwin County Deputies Arrest Person of Interest for Halloween Murder
MILLEDGEVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Baldwin County investigators arrested a person of interest for the murder of a Newton County man found dead on the side of the road in Milledgeville early Wednesday.
Baldwin County Sheriff Bill Massee says the person of interest is somehow involved with the murder, but the sheriff’s office doesn’t have enough evidence yet to charge him.
Investigators identified the victim as 30-year-old Travin Montez Davis of Covington. Deputies say he was shot twice in the chest. Massee believes the shooting happened somewhere else and then the body was later dumped in a ditch off Treanor Drive near the Oconee River. A resident spotted the body as she was leaving her home.
