UPDATE: Georgia College Reopens After Bomb Threat Investigation
MILLEDGEVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Georgia College and State University reopens after law enforcement investigated a bomb threat on campus Thursday.
According to the university’s Facebook page, residence halls reopened at approximately 4:30 pm and dining services resumed at 5 pm. An all clear of the campus was given at 5:52 pm.
Baldwin County Sheriff Bill Massee says a call came into the 911 dispatch center around 2:15 pm. The caller said there was a bomb threat on campus, but investigators did not know of an exact location.
Campus leadership evaluated the threat. Classes were canceled and students, faculty, and staff were told to evacuate the buildings of all Georgia College campuses over a loud speaker.
