Local Dentist Hosting Halloween Candy Buy Back

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A local dentist is redefining the phrase “put your money where your mouth is.”

Dr. Sheliah Shah with the Macon Smiles dental office is buying back your kid’s extra Halloween candy. She’s giving away one dollar for every pound of unwrapped candy.

In addition to earning some extra cash, the candy collected will go to Operation Gratitude who will ship it to troops overseas.

“[It’s] an opportunity for children to get the message of getting rid of the candy,” Dr. Shah said. “They have some to enjoy for a few days, now let’s get it out of the house and they can learn the act of going and donating something.”

Kid can bring in their candy to the Macon Smiles dentist office on Monday November 5th from 3 pm to 6pm. The address is 4929 Forsyth Road.
