UPDATE: Jury Deliberating in Houston County Murder Trial
PERRY, Georgia (41NBCWMGT) – The jury is now deliberating on whether Jermontae Moss is guilty on 11 counts, including murder. Moss is charged with the shooting death of Mexican Food Store Owner Jose Marin in September 2011.
During closing arguments, Houston County District Attorney George Hartwig stated that there is enough evidence to find Moss guilty. “He may be a baby faced killer, but he’s a killer,” Hartwig said pointing at Moss.
He also pulled out evidence including the gun found on Moss and the clothes he had on the night of the shooting. But Defense Attorney Rodney Davis argued during closing statements that this evidence is not enough. “Where’s the red bandana?” Davis asked during closing, “Where are the finger prints on the gun?”
Moss is charged with 10 counts, including 3 counts felony murder, aggravated robbery and aggravated assault.
Hartwig said he doesn’t think it will take the jury long to deliberate.
