UPDATE: Woman Commits Suicide in Kroger Parking Lot in Milledgeville

MILLEDGEVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A 57-year-old woman is dead after she shot herself in the Kroger parking lot on North Columbia Street in Milledgeville.

It happened around 2 p.m. on Saturday. According to Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office Captain Brad King, the woman was at Kroger with her husband. When the husband went inside the store, the woman walked to the edge of the parking lot and shot herself. She died of a single gunshot wound to the chest.

King says the woman, who was from Henry County, was visiting relatives in Milledgeville. The family told King she had been battling depression.

No one else was hurt during the shooting.
