Georgia State Fair Adds Fall Dates at Atlanta Motor Speedway
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Those of you looking for a return trip to the Atlanta Motor Speedway after last month’s NASCAR race now have an excuse to go back.
The Georgia State Fair, which is usually held at Central City Park in Macon every spring, has added fall dates to its schedule and will be at the track for ten days starting on October 26th.
Universal Fairs, based out of Memphis, bought the fair in 2010.
Brian Ellsworth, with the company, tells 41NBC the group thought the fair’s name had too much
of a reputation to stay in just one place and that it deserved another venue.
If you’re a longtime fan of the fair in Macon, don’t worry. Ellsworth tells us Universal Fairs has no
plans of removing the annual event in Macon.
According to a release from the Atlanta Motor Speedway, the fall fair at AMS will take place October 26th through November 4th. The fair will feature more than 50 rides, a petting zoo, an aerialist act, a motorcycle stunt show, the Lady Houdini Escape Artist and comedian and juggler Alex Zerbe.
The fair will also play host to several concerts during its stay at AMS. All shows and musical acts are included in the admission price of $7 for adults, $5 for children ages five to 11, and children four and under are free. For rides, tickets start at $1 per ticket, or all-day wristbands can be purchased for $20.
The fair will be open on Fridays from 4:00 p.m. to midnight, Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to midnight, Sundays from 12:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Monday through Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
October 26th and 27th will also feature the Legends Asphalt Nationals at AMS, where the best Legends car drivers from across the country will battle on the speedway’s quarter-mile short track to determine the national champion in each division.
