Two Teens Arrested and Charged for Payne City Shooting

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Two teens were arrested and charged for shooting a woman Thursday afternoon in Payne City.

17-year-old Vancleto Thomas Gray, Jr. is currently being held in the Bibb County Jail and charged with aggravated assaulted. The second suspect, is a 16-year-old juvenile who is being held at the Youth Detention Center.

According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, witnesses heard shots fired in vacant lot near 342 Rose Avenue. They saw two young men fleeing the scene running toward Vineville Avenue.

The woman who was shot walked away from the scene and was assisted by a passerby who called 911.

Macon police and Bibb County deputies arrived on the scene. A Macon police officer located the two suspects who were sitting on the steps of an apartment building on Ridge Avenue. Both were arrested and taken to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office for questioning.

Gray is waiting for a first appearance in Magistrate Court.
