New Fire Station Going Up On West Side of Crawford County

ROBERTA, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Crawford County Fire Chief Randall Pate is hoping a new fire station on the west side of the county will help his volunteers respond to calls a lot quicker.

The current fire station that serves the residents in the area is basically a building that houses a truck, but Chief Pate says that’s what the state designates as station number two. Resident Mary Battle doesn’t call it that.

“Well we never had a fire station, but there was a truck right up there next to it,” says Battle.

When she heard they were building a new station to replace the current one, about 3 miles closer to her home battle thought “It was a good idea.”
