Peach County Candidates Face Off in Town Hall Debate

FORT VALLEY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Before President Obama and Governor Mitt Romney hit the stage for the second presidential debate, representative in Peach county answered questions from people in our area.

In a town hall style meeting at the Peach County courthouse, Democrat District Attorney of the Macon Judicial Court Candidate David Cooke, Peach County Commission Post 5 at Large Candidates Michael Gilstrap and Melvin Walker and Peach County Coroner Kerry Rooks discussed everything from the crime rate to dirty campaigning.

“I wanted to know more about local representation for the homosexual community in the state of Georgia,” said Michael Glaser who attended the forum.

“My issue was the annexation of the sewage and water in Southwest Peach,” said Xavior Tucker who also attended the event.

While some opinions were swayed, others just wanted to hear the issues straight from the source. 41 NBC’s Andrew Reeser moderated the debate.
