Are Credit Unions Saving You Money?

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)-A new study found that more people are switching to credit unions to save money, and they’re collectively saving millions of dollars.More than 1.9 million people in the state of Georgia are members of a credit union. According to a study conducted by the Georgia Credit Union Affiliates, credit unions saved Georgians more than 150 million dollars during the past year.

Vice President of Branch Services at Robins Federal Credit Union Roy Bibb believes customer service is a key reason why people choose Robins Federal Credit Union. 

“Really it’s a little bit in everything that we do…from our lower fees to lower application fees to better dividend rates on savings to lower loan rates,” said Bibb.

Georgia Credit Union Affiliates also said over-draft fees average 5 dollars less at credit unions.
