2 Macon Police Officers Arrested

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Two officers in the Macon Police Department have been arrested in separate incidents, according to a news release.

On Saturday, Sgt. Andrew Clarke was arrested by the Georgia State Patrol and charged for a DUI and Speeding. He has been with the department for five years.

Also on Saturday, Officer Anita Harrell was arrested by the MPD’s CID Division after an off-duty altercation. After an investigation, arrest warrants were issued for Harrell for Simple Battery and Violation of Oath of Office. She has been with the MPD for four years.

Both officers have been placed on five-day administrative leave pending termination by the MPD’s Internal Affairs unit.
