Weaver Student Arrested for Bringing Gun on Campus

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Bibb County Campus Police arrested a 14-year-old male student for bringing a small caliber handgun on campus at Weaver Middle School.

According to a news release from the Bibb County School District, campus police got a tip from an undisclosed source that a student had brought a weapon to school.

After a search of school grounds, around 12:30 pm campus police located the suspect in his classroom and noticed his shoe was not completely on. They found the handgun inside. He was arrested without incident.

The student told police he found the handgun near a bush where he was waiting for his school bus. He’s been taken to Macon Regional Youth Detention Center.
