UPDATE: Judge Denies Bond for 17-Year-Old Kathleen Murder Suspect

PERRY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The 17-year-old Kathleen girl charged with murdering her 12-year-old sister, and setting her parents home on fire was denied bond today.

Judge Katherine Lumsden said to the court, “there’s no worse scenario for two parents,” but decided, based on her history, Carmen Collins was not a qualified candidate for bond.

Even after she received the news, Carmen walked out of court smiling and waving at her parents. Her attorney, public defender, Nick White, noted the Collins’ were there supporting their daughter.

White requested bond based on the conditions that Carmen would stay at a relatives home in Macon County under house arrest with an electronic monitor.
