Disability Connections Holds Town Hall Metting On Consolidation

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) -The non-profit organization, Disability Connections held a town hall meeting this afternoon to talk about consolidation. State Senator Cecil Staton spoke in front of a crowd of nearly 100 people about ways they can get involved in the consolidation process. Staton said it’s as simple as attending the monthly meetings and, of course, heading to the polls to vote during the elections.

“Consolidation of Macon/ Bibb County affects the folks with disabilities specifically in the Middle Georgia area because it may have to do with curb cuts, accessibility of side walks, accessibility of building programs and just a lot of accessibility of services,” said Jerilyn Levertt, Executive
Director of Disability Connections.

Disability Connections is also a center for independent living. For more
