Man Dead after Shooting Incident in Warner Robins

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Warner Robins Police are investigating their second shooting of the month that left one man dead.

Police arrived on the scene at 101 Woodcrest Circle on Thursday night just before 11. 25-year-old Joel Taylor was inside his apartment when the door was forced open by two men. Taylor was shot several times. He was pronounced dead at the Houston Medical Center.

Valarie Lawrence lives just one building over. She said it’s a scene she’ll never forget.

“I looked out and just saw everything out here you know, police, ambulance, everything,” Lawrence said.

Lawrence described the complex as close-knit. Neighbors lined the crime scene Friday trying to figure out what went wrong in apartment 14A.

“I have no knowledge of anything like this happening over here,” Lawrence said.

According to neighbors, Taylor shared the apartment with his girlfriend and the two were very close. No word if she was harmed in the incident.

“They were a quiet couple, I rarely ever saw one without the other. They were always together,” Lawrence said.

Police continued to try to piece together the crime scene, canvassing the area. They have no clear description of the suspects and no arrests have been made.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Criminal Investigations Division at 478-929-6911
