Homeless Veterans Receive Help From Volunteers and Sponsors
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)-Representative James Beverly along with several sponsors and volunteers will be participating in a Central Georgia home front event to help make the
transition from active military duty to civilian life easier for U.S. veterans. Dr. Beverly said it is a challenge many U.S veterans deal with. Volunteers were at the VFW on Key Street preparing for tomorrow’s event.
“We have 22 sponsors…American Red Cross, Goodwill, Central Georgia Technical College. It’s going to be hair cuts, legal services. It is huge. So, we are doing an event where we brought together strategic partners to say to our veterans thank you,” said Dr. Beverly.
Homeless veterans will be able to get HIV testing, an eye exam, and a dental exam. The event is tomorrow from 9am until 4pm at the VFW on Key Street.
