Macon-Bibb Animal Welfare Close to Having New Director

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Macon-Bibb Animal Welfare will soon have a new director.

That’s according to Animal Welfare Committee Chairman Lonzy Edwards.

He tells us a new director should be chosen in the next couple of weeks.

“We ultimately made a decision to interview four people,” says Edwards.  “One of those people dropped out, so we’ve conducted interviews, and hopefully the decision-making progress is in its final stages.”

Edwards says after a director has been selected, the committee can focus on who will design the new animal shelter.

He tells us there are between 15 and 20 design firms interested in the project.
