Lucas Unseats Paris in State Senate District 26 Democratic Run-off

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – David Lucas is one step closer to the ‘Gold Dome’. The former state representative unseated incumbent State Senator Miriam Paris in the Democratic primary run-off for District 26.

Lucas watched early numbers roll in from his headquarters in downtown Macon. Early reports showed voters in favor of Paris, who ultimately won five of the seven counties in the district.

It was Bibb County voters who gave Lucas a late lead. He won the county with more than 5000 votes compared to Paris’ 3600, just enough to give him the upper-hand. Lucas credits his campaign supporters, and grass-roots efforts for his win.
