Macon Focuses on Getting rid of Abandoned and Dilapidated Houses

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- The city of Macon started its round of abandoned and dilapidated house demolition this week. It’s part of Mayor Reichert’s effort to beautify the city. Since 2008, two hundred and twenty properties have been demolished, and this month there will be at least a dozen more homes torn down near Antioch Road.

Once the houses are demolished, the properties will be cleaned up. Next week, 4 more homes will be torn down including a home at 3525 Antioch Road.
