Teachers Ready To Start Teaching Mandarin Chinese In Bibb County

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)-Twenty-five graduate students from China have arrived in Macon and will spend extra time here. The students will teach Chinese this year at all of Bibb County’s elementary schools. Children in local elementary schools will learn how to pronounce numbers, colors, body parts, and family members in Chinese.

“All of those teachers are very, very excited. They are very happy to be in this community because you know they enjoy the hospitality from day one, and we thank the school district and also the community members that support this program,” said Ken Jin, Confucius Institute Director.

The Mandarin Chinese language course is part of Bibb County Superintendent Dr. Romain Dallemand’s Macon Miracle Plan, which makes learning Mandarin Chinese a requirement.
