Free Bookbags and School Supplies for Bibb County Students

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – It’s that time of the year again. Students in Bibb County head back to school next week and the school district is getting them ready to hit the books.

Parents and children lined up outside the school district’s Welcome Center Thursday morning to receive a free backpack filled with school supplies. The School Social Services department handed out 120 bags to families with children registered for the school year.

Parents say they are grateful for the free supplies, especially during the tough economic times.

Classes in Bibb County start on August 13th.
