“Black Swan” Violinist to Present Latest Project “Portals” in Macon

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – People growing up in a multimedia world may find it hard to have a love of both classical music and contemporary culture, but a famous violinist is working to change that here in Macon and around the world.

Violinist Tim Fain has showcased his musical talents in films like the thriller Black Swan. His latest project, “Portals”, opens up a whole new world for music lovers. The show is multimedia-based and uses social networking sites and other forms of media to create a live performance driven by Fain, but accompanied by musicians from around the globe.

Fain says it’s a great way to explore how we connect in the digital age, through music.

“For me, nothing will ever replace the energy and excitement of a live performance, but why not just try to make it more part of the age we live in?,” Fain tells 41NBC. “I just wanted to do something that brought together all of my different loves in the art world.”

The show is tomorrow night at the Porter Auditorium on Wesleyan College’s campus and it starts at 7:30. For ticket information, visit portalsproject.com.
