Georgia State Fair Kicks Off

MACON,Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)-The Georgia State Fair has officially opened. Fair workers were up early this morning making sure all of the rides were working properly. For 150 years, the Georgia State Fair has been going strong in Macon. Universal Fairs is the new owner of this year’s fair. Several bands will be performing during the week including performances by the Marshall Tucker
Band and Ginuwine.

“Through out the fair grounds, we got rattle snake shows. We got Wild West shows. We got live trained-bear shows. We have got clown acts. We got high wire acts,” said Mark Lovell, President of Universal Fairs.

The fair will be open today through Sunday, May 6th. The price for adults 14 years old to 59 years old is $7.00.  The price for seniors 60 years old and older and youth between the ages of 5 and 13 are $5.00 dollars.  There is no cost for kids 4 years old and younger.
