Three Men Sentenced in Death Of Forest Ranger In Georgia
MACON, Ga. – Three men have been sentenced in the connection to the shooting death of a U.S. Forest Service ranger in Jasper County. U.S. Attorney Michael Moore says 48-year-old Timothy Grant, 35-year-old Roberto Flores and 69-year-old Michael Moscardelli were sentenced Wednesday. Grant and Flores pleaded guilty to knowing that 37-year-old officer Christopher Arby Upton was killed the line of duty in 2010 in the Oconee National Forest, but failed to tell authorities. Moscardelli pleaded guilty to making false statements to a law enforcement officer. Grant was ordered to serve two days in jail and three years on probation. Flores and Moscardelli each are ordered to serve two years on probation. Norman Clinton Hale was sentenced to five years in prison last month in the shooting death of the Upton.
