Middle Georgia Celebrates Earth Day 2012

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Friday, the Bibb County Cooperative Extension’s Karol Kelly joins Daybreak to announce Earth Day events happening around Middle Georgia.

Saturday will be Community Green and Volunteer Day. The City of Macon Parks and Recreation Center will be giving away trees. The activities will take place at St. Francis Episcopal Church beginning at 1P.M. until 6P.M. Children’s arts and crafts, music, food, and tips on gardening and recycling will be offered to those interested.

Ocmulgee National Monument will be giving away native hardwood trees.

Sunday, Earth Day brunch will be available at various churches and a message on “Being Good Stewards of the Earth.” Gateway Park will also offer “Jazz on the Dock” at 7P.M.
