VA Navy Jet Crash Reminder of RAFB Encroachment Concern

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (WMGT/41NBC) – A malfunctioning Navy Jet crashed Friday in Virginia Beach, leaving five apartment buildings destroyed. The crash makes for a stark reminder of the pressing encroachment issue at Robins Air Force Base.

“We’ve purchased a number of properties and at some point those areas will be rezoned, once enough properties have been purchased and we have enough clearance to do that, but that is well on its way,” said Former Robins Air Force Base Major General, Rick Goddard.
