Bibb County Schools Welcome Center Open For Business

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — School may have gotten a little easier for some parents in Middle Georgia. Today, parents of Bibb County students got a tour of the district’s new welcome center.

Bibb County Superintendent Dr. Romain Dallemand hopes the center will be a one-stop shop for families and students.

“One place where all parents can come to register their students, one place where we’re going to provide training,” says Dallemand.

The center was designed with parents’ needs in mind and will provide all the basics resources.

“One place our parents can call and they will not have to get bounced back and forth from one department to another,” says Dallemand.

Bibb County grandparent Linda Flagg believes the center will be a helpful tool for families.

“When the kids had homework we were able to come here to use the computer,” says Flagg.

The centralized location allows parents to complete registration without having to visit multiple schools and provides training in academics and technology. Parent advocates are also onsite to assist with any issues between a parent and the school.

Dallemand hopes the new welcome center will be a parent’s best resource.

“The concept of the one-stop shop is already working, it’s just like Google,” says Dallemand.
