Pep Rally Motivates Students Before CRCT
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – When you were in school, did you ever just want to dance away your worries before taking a big standardized test? Students at Williams Elementary in Macon got to do just that today.
With the Criterion-Referenced Competency Test looming, students, staff and parents got a chance to get ready for it in a special pep rally.
Students got pumped with chants, cheers, dancing, and musical guests–including CMD styles, who happens to be a former Williams Elementary student.
Faculty members believe proper motivation will get the school the results it needs.
“Today is about just motivating our boys and girls—you can do your best regardless of the test, or any situation that may occur, you can do your best,” says faculty member Shandrina Griffin-Stewart. Apparently, the pep rally worked. Students say they do feel motivated.
“I plan to make an 850 or above on the CRCT, because I studied my math, science, social studies, and reading,” says student Dymond Barnes.
The pep rally also included a question and answer session, featuring test-taking strategies and motivational speeches by some of the students’ parents.
