Perry Cancer Patient Kody Lucas Passes Away
PERRY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Kody Lucas passed away early Tuesday morning after battling with cancer for more than four years. In 2007 Lucas was diagnosed with a brain tumor and at the time was given a 20 percent chance to survive. Lucas beat those odds and graduated with the class of 2011 at Perry High School last May.
Later that year, Lucas continued in his fight and celebrated turning 19-years-old with his third annual birthday blood drive. His wish was to get as many people to donate blood, in hopes of giving others a second chance at life.
During an interview in May of 2011, Lucas said “No matter who says that it won’t happen and no matter what happens, never ever give up, just reach for the stars, never give up hope.”
Visitation for Lucas will take place Friday, April 13th from 5 to 8PM with a funeral service on Saturday starting at 11AM. Both services will be at Cross Point Baptist Church located at 645 Perry Parkway, Perry, GA 31069.
