Dublin Girl Sets National Shot Put Record

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The high school girl shot putter ranked number one in the country right now is Dublin’s own Sarah Howard.

“She set the mark, now everyone else is trying to catch her now,” says her mother, Amanda Howard.

The young athlete from Trinity Christian School also broke the Georgia record for high school girls this year. She threw the 8.8 pound ball 51 feet and 11 inches. Her score is the one to beat for the rest of the country in the 2012 track and field season.
