Middle Georgia Community Members Promote Child Abuse Awareness

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Members of the Middle Georgia community are working together to spread information on child abuse prevention.

Law enforcement agencies and several local organizations named Wednesday Child Abuse Awareness Day in Middle Georgia. Many in attendance at The Medical Center of Central Georgia signed the
Bibb County abuse protocol as a commitment to investigate child abuse in the community.

“We have had over 70 kids that have died because of child abuse so we want people to know that this is a serious problem and we need to be aware that this is something that is going on,” says Dr. Yameika Head of the Crescent House.

The month of April is dedicated to child abuse prevention.
