Local Religious and Community Leaders Honored for Continuing Dr. King’s Mission
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – On the 44th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s death, more than 20 local leaders are honored for following in his footsteps.
Nearly 100 people joined together at Greater Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church for the first annual “Drum Major for Justice Awards.” President of the Evangelical Ministers Alliance of Macon, Reverend Lisa Watson, says those honored are veteran leaders in the Macon community. Watson believes they are examples of Dr. King’s message which is to serve to help break down the barriers between races.
