Georgia’s First Lady Visits Dublin High School
DUBLIN, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- Georgia’s First Lady visited the Emerald city today. Sandra Deal, along with State School Superintendent, John Barge, were at Dublin High School this afternoon. This was a stop on their state tour to promote literacy as part of her “Read Across Georgia” campaign to support the Governor’s plan to increase kids’ reading skills by the third grade. Deal used to be a teacher, and she stopped by several classrooms to encourage students to work hard and get a good education.
“We Believe it’s important , we want them to believe it’s important and we want them to work so that they can have good jobs in the future,”said Sandra Deal.
” I’m just glad to have them coming to Dublin High School to see some of the great things that we are doing here,” said Dublin High School Principal, Robert Hunter.
Deal and Barge, have spent this month visiting various schools across the state.
