Local Businesses Feeling The Pain At the Pump

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- As consumers are feeling the effects of high fuel prices, so are local
businesses. The manager of Petals flower shop on Ingleside Avenue in Macon says they’ve had to cut back on trips outside of Bibb County since prices have gone up at the pump.  The shop delivers flowers all over Macon and Bibb County.  When gas prices started to rise, Manager Lynn Stevens had to increase the store’s delivery fee to 9 dollars.

Stevens says she hopes the prices at the pump decrease.  That way, she doesn’t have to raise delivery prices.  “We are hoping that we can keep it right at nine and not go any higher and still give the customers quality arrangements that they desire,” said Manger Lynn Stevens.

This week Petals will be making wreaths and bows for the Cherry Blossom
Festival.  For more information you can call 471-7577.
