Georgia Tech And Georgia Women Both Land No. 4 Seeds In NCAA Tournament
ATLANTA (AP) – Georgia Tech received the highest seed in school history and will open the NCAA women’s tournament against Sacred Heart.
The Yellow Jackets (24-8) were rewarded with a No. 4 seed after tying the program record for wins in a season and reaching the championship game of the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament. They will face 13th-seeded Sacred Heart in the opening round of the Des Moines region at Chapel Hill, N.C.
Georgia (22-8) also received a No. 4 seed, despite losing in the quarterfinals of the Southeastern Conference tournament. The Lady Bulldogs will open against 13th-seeded Marist at Tallahassee, Fla.,
in the Raleigh region.
