Gun Found in Bathroom Ceiling at Westside High School

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A campus police officer found a gun today at Westside High School.  It was discovered in the ceiling of the boys’ bathroom near the gymnasium.  According to a news release from the Bibb County School District, the unloaded handgun was found during an officers daily check of the campus.

The school was placed on Code Red for a little less than an hour while police and school administrators searched the building.  They found no other weapons.

The school district also encourages students who know of this type of activity to inform an adult or report it anonymously through Crimestoppers at 1-877-68-CRIME.
