Macon Attorney to Seek School Board Seat

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Macon attorney Jason Downey says he’s planning to run for a seat on the Bibb County School Board.

He’s seeking the district 6 seat, currently held by Gary Bechtel, who won’t be able to run again because of term limits.

In his news release, he encouraged voters to “hold the board and superintendent accountable… Support the Miracle, but ask questions.”  Downey added, “The plan has lofty goals to transform the Bibb County Public School System in to one of greatness. A plan such as this is bound to be met with criticisms and some support. Both criticism and support are necessary as we move forward with this plan.”
