Pension Plan Laid Out for Employees Transferring to County

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A majority of the employees transferring to Bibb County from the City of Macon will continue to earn their pension under the city’s retirement plan.

The Employee Development and Compensation Committee approved changes to the current Macon Pension and Retirement system.

64 employees who built up their retirement in the city’s plan will stay with them, and the county will make payments into the fund. 26 of the employees transferring, who are not currently in the pension system, will carry over their years of service to the county pension fund.
