Several Democratic leaders are calling for tighter oversight of data centers and AI development after campaigning on the issue during the election.

Voters who identified data centers as a major concern overwhelmingly supported Democratic candidates, according to the report.

The possibility of new restrictions has raised concerns among investors that the rapid expansion of AI infrastructure, which has helped fuel economic growth this year, could slow significantly.

Technology and artificial intelligence stocks led the market decline as investors reconsidered the industry’s growth prospects.

Chinese AI-related stocks were among the few to gain, amid speculation that restrictions on American AI development could allow Chinese companies to strengthen their competitive position.

Meanwhile, U.S. taxpayers could receive additional tax benefits next year as several federal tax provisions are adjusted.

Taxpayers will be able to shield an additional $500 from taxation under the upcoming changes.

Other provisions, including estate and gift tax thresholds, will also be adjusted.

The child tax credit is expected to increase by $100, bringing the maximum benefit to $2,300 per qualifying child.

In other news, outdoor recreation experts are encouraging Americans to consider off-road activities as a way to improve their physical and mental well-being.

California State Park Ranger Kevin Overduin says off-road recreation can provide an opportunity to disconnect from digital distractions and everyday stress.

However, Overduin emphasizes the importance of taking proper safety precautions before heading onto the trails.

He recommends wearing a properly fitted helmet, eye protection, long sleeves, gloves and long pants.

Riders are also encouraged to remain on designated trails to reduce the risk of injuries and protect surrounding environments.
