Red Flag in Bibb County School Board Forensic Audit
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The results of a forensic audit of the Bibb County School District are in, and the findings show some red flags in the school systems spending.
Board member Susan Middleton says credit cards issued to schools may not always be used for school spending. The audit also shows nearly 150 people received payments from the school board more than 100 days after termination. Discrepancies were also found in the payroll records. Middleton says, there were large amounts of money sent to the same address.
“With a new superintendent he needs to understand what he has so that going forward he can be responsible for what’s happened on his watch,” says Middleton.
This is the first year during her 12 years of service the school board has ordered a forensic audit.
