Macon’s Big Bike Ride returns Nov. 7
Community cyclists to highlight safer streets, local progress, and active transportation at annual event.
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – With just two weeks to go, Bike Walk Macon is rallying cyclists of all experience levels to register for the third annual Macon’s Big Bike Ride, set for Saturday, Nov. 7.
Organizers say the event is about more than just cycling. As transportation policies and federal priorities continue to shift, the ride is an opportunity to show local support for safer streets and improved transportation options. Hundreds of Middle Georgia residents are expected to join, highlighting recent progress and underscoring the need for continued investment in connectivity and street safety.
The ride will begin at Rosa Parks Square in downtown Macon at 4 p.m., following registration at 2:30 p.m. Participants will travel a route that showcases projects aimed at enhancing neighborhood and trail links. The ride will end at Fall Line Brewing Co. with a celebration and updates on the Ocmulgee Heritage Trail, beginning at 6 p.m.
“Big Bike Ride is a chance to show that our community believes in safer streets, better connectivity, and transportation options that work for everyone,” said Kaylee Pruitt, executive director of Bike Walk Macon. “We’ve made meaningful progress, but there’s still important work ahead.”
Registration costs $10 per person in advance and $15 on the day of the event. Children 12 and under can ride for free. Riders may also purchase a 2026 Macon’s Big Bike Ride T-shirt for $25. Registration is available at www.bikewalkmacon.com/bigbikeride.
