UPDATE: Jones County Deputies Investigate Murder
GRAY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- According to Captain Earl Humphries, an unidentified man was found at 149 Old Ridge Road Sunday night. Humphries tells 41NBC the man’s death is suspicious, but would not say how he was killed. The man does not live in the home where he was found in.
Jones County Deputies responded to the scene after Bibb County deputies discovered the body under the back porch. Humphries says it had been there for a while.
Bibb County deputies arrived on the scene following up on leads involving a missing Henry County man. Douglas Coker has been missing since March 13th. Jones County Sheriff Butch Reece says his office is nearly 100% sure the body found is Douglas Coker.
An arrest warrant has been issued for the tenant of the house, Pamela Moss. Reece says Moss and Coker had a business relationship. Moss is expected to turn herself in. An autopsy is expected Tuesday.
Sheriff Reece says his office has located Coker’s 2009 Dodge Avenger rental. The vehicle was found in Griffin, Georgia at a hospital there.
Reece says his department is still on the look out for Moss’ 1992 Subaru Legacy tag number ASE 6347
According to the Department of Corrections, a Macon woman by the name of Pamela Frye, believed to be Moss’s maiden name, served nearly 10 years in prison for involuntary manslaughter. We haven’t confirmed if this is the same person. However, The Rome News-Tribune reported in 1997 that Frye plead guilty to the poisoning death of her mother in an attempt to collect $500,000 in insurance money. Again, we still haven’t been able to confirm that this is the same person.
We’ll be sure to keep you updated as more information becomes available.
