13th annual Teeing Off for Children and Education golf tournament set for November 6 in Macon
The tournament will feature prizes for first, second, third and last place, along with competitions for the longest drive and closest to the pin.
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — The 13th annual Teeing Off for Children and Education golf tournament will take place Friday, November 6, at River North Country Club in Macon, raising money for the Miss Macon Scholarship Program and Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
April Montgomery joined 41NBC’s 41 Today to discuss the four-person scramble, which is open to golfers of all skill levels.
Montgomery said registration is still available, and participants do not need to have a complete team to sign up. Individual golfers will be assigned to a team.
The tournament will feature prizes for first, second, third and last place, along with competitions for the longest drive and closest to the pin.
Every participant will also be entered into a drawing for a pair of diamond earrings valued at $1,200, sponsored by Forever Diamonds.
Registration begins at 11:30 a.m., followed by a 1 p.m. tee time. Lunch will be provided by Fish and Pig, with dinner served after the tournament. Participants can also take part in raffles and other prize drawings.
Proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Miss Macon Scholarship Program, which provides scholarship opportunities for young women, and Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
Montgomery said the tournament has supported both causes for 13 years.
The Miss Macon Scholarship Program is also preparing for next year’s competition. Montgomery said young women ages 14 to 28 can find information about participating through the organization’s website. A date for the 2027 competition has not been finalized.
Golfers interested in participating in the November 6 tournament can register by calling Montgomery at 478-361-4631 or visiting MissMacon.org.
