Band of the Week: Houston County High School

Brittany Dean,

This week’s 41NBC Band of the Week spotlight shines on Houston County High School Black and Silver Brigade.

The Houston County High School marching band is embracing growth, perseverance and overcoming challenges with this year’s show, “Rooted.”

Led by Director of Bands Dillon Watkins, the band features approximately 190 students this season, with a large number of freshmen and sophomores taking the field.

“We’re really excited. It’s a young group,” Watkins said.

The show’s concept centers on growing through adversity, using the imagery of planting roots and learning to thrive through difficult seasons.

“Rooted” highlights how challenges can shape individuals and help them grow stronger, even during times of turmoil and uncertainty.

Congratulations to Houston County High School for being named this week’s 41NBC Band of the Week, sponsored by Young America Music Schools!
