Montezuma Police Make Arrest in Connection to Murder

MONTEZUMA, Georgia(41NBC/WMGT)- Montezuma Police have arrested a man in connection to the death of 56-year-old John Thomas Hubbard. 26-year-old Mortez Javar MacKenzie was arrested after evidence linked him to Hubbard’s address where his body was found Sunday. MacKenzie is said to have robbed other elderly people in the past and may have even assaulted Hubbard before. Mackenzie was interviewed and taken to the Macon County Sheriff’s Department where he’s being held on a State Probation Warrant pending further charges.
