Today is the deadline to register to vote in Georgia for the November 3 election

The Macon-Bibb County Board of Elections is reminding residents to make sure their registration information is current, including any recent address or name changes.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Georgia voters have until Monday, October 5 to register to vote or update their voter registration information ahead of the November 3, 2026 General/Special Election.

How to register to vote in Georgia

To register to vote in Georgia, you must:

  • Be a U.S. citizen.
  • Be a legal resident of the county where you are registering.
  • Be at least 17 1/2 years old to register and 18 years old to vote.
  • Not be serving a sentence for a felony involving moral turpitude.
  • Not have been found mentally incompetent by a judge.

Eligible residents can register online through the Georgia Secretary of State’s voter registration system or download a voter registration application and mail it to the Secretary of State’s office.

Voters can also check their registration status through the Secretary of State’s My Voter Page.

Check your registration

Voters should verify their registration information before Election Day, particularly if they have recently moved or changed their name.

What comes next?

Early voting for the November 3 election begins Tuesday, October 13, and runs through Friday, October 30.

In Macon-Bibb County, early voting will be available Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with additional Saturday voting on October 17 and October 24 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday voting will be available October 18 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Macon Mall location only.

Early voting locations include:

For voters who plan to cast an absentee ballot, the deadline to submit an absentee-by-mail application is October 23.

Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, with polls open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Voters can use the Secretary of State’s My Voter Page to check their registration, find their polling place and review information about their districts.
