RECALL WATCH LIST: Walmart grill brushes, frozen berries and hand warmers recalled
The recalls involve ingestion, fire, burn, salmonella and E. coli risks, while the FDA has also closed its Cyclospora investigation.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A wave of urgent product recalls spanning grocery aisles and home goods shelves. From kitchen staples like fresh produce and frozen berries to everyday tools such as grill brushes and rechargeable hand warmers, here’s this week’s Recall Watch List.
Broccoli seeds recalled over salmonella risk
E-A-K Distribution is recalling some of its home-grown green sprouting Calabrese broccoli seeds because they may be contaminated with salmonella. The affected seeds were sold in eight-ounce, cream-colored pouches on Amazon between August 20 and September 18, 2026. No illnesses have been reported, but consumers are urged to dispose of the seeds and contact Amazon for a full refund. The recall is connected to a sprout grower involved in a multi-state foodborne illness outbreak.
Frozen berries pulled from shelves for E. coli contamination
More frozen berries have been recalled due to potential E. coli contamination. The recall includes Great Value’s Frozen Organic Blueberries and Triple Berry Blend, sold at Walmart stores in 30 states and Puerto Rico in 10-ounce bags with best-buy dates in January, February, and June 2028. Trader Joe’s Frozen Organic Mixed Berry Blend, sold in 12-ounce bags, was distributed in 26 states and Washington, D.C., with a best-before date of Feb. 20, 2028. Consumers should not eat the berries and may return them for a full refund.
FDA concludes investigation into deadly Cyclospora outbreak
The Food and Drug Administration has officially wrapped up its investigation into the massive and deadly Cyclospora outbreak linked to iceberg lettuce. Officials could not determine the source of the contamination, but two positive samples were found at a Taylor Farms facility in Mexico. The FDA believes all tainted lettuce has been removed from stores and plans to increase surveillance to prevent future outbreaks. Nearly 20,000 cases and two deaths were reported during the outbreak.
Hand warmers recalled for fire hazard
Kobayashi is recalling about 77,000 HotHands rechargeable hand warmers after reports that their lithium-ion batteries and electrical components can ignite, posing burn risks. The affected warmers are white and orange, sold in two-packs, and feature magnetic connectors and USB-C charging ports. Most were sold in the United States, with a few dozen purchased in Canada. Additional recall information is available on the Consumer Product Safety Commission website.
Millions of grill brushes recalled over injury risk
Nearly 4.5 million “Expert Grill” wire brushes sold at Walmart are being recalled because the metal bristles can detach and end up in food, potentially causing serious internal injuries if ingested. The brushes were sold in stores and online from January 2021 through August 2026. No injuries have been reported, but officials recommend consumers stop using the brushes and return them for a full refund or store credit.
