Deputies: Man dies after crash in north Macon

Deputies say a 26-year-old Macon man died after his car crossed into the path of an SUV on Forest Hill Road.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT-DT) — A 26-year-old man was killed in a crash in North Macon on Friday, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

The say deputies responded to the 700 block of Forest Hill Road after around 6:10 p.m.

According to witnesses, the driver of a Lexus was traveling north on Forest Hill Road when it moved into the center turn lane and lost control. They say the car then slid sideways into the path of a Kia Sorento.

Investigators believe the driver of the Lexus may have been experiencing a medical emergency at the time of the crash.

Paramedics transported both drivers to a local medical facility. The driver of the Kia was listed in stable condition. They say the driver of the Lexus, identified as 26-year-old Andrew Wilson, was pronounced dead by hospital staff.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office says the crash remains under investigation, and more information will be released when it becomes available.
