Driver Loses Control Of Vehicle, Passenger Dies

FORSYTH, Georgia (41 NBC/WMGT) – A Monticello man is dead after he is thrown from the back seat of a truck in Monroe County.

Early Sunday morning, Alejandro Leyto Santiago was driving on Brent Road, when he swerved to avoid hitting a deer. Santiago lost control of the Ford Explorer he was driving, causing it to flip.

18 year old Felipe Vasquez was riding in the back seat and was thrown from the truck. The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says Vasquez was not wearing his seat belt.

No other injuries were reported. Santiago was cited for driving without a license.
