Cochran-Bleckley Chamber announces upcoming fall events, Great Pumpkin Festival
Barker announced the Harvest Festival is returning to its original name, the Great Pumpkin Festival.
COCHRAN, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Cochran-Bleckley Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for a busy fall with several events planned throughout September and October.
Chamber President Melissa Barker joined 41 Today to highlight upcoming events, including networking opportunities, live music, racing and the return of a longtime community festival.
The lineup begins with a Community Uno Night at 6:30 p.m. at The Commons. Barker said the Uno tournament will benefit Knight Acting.
On Wednesday, Gear Up Aircraft Rental will host Caffeinated Connections, giving local business owners and community members an opportunity to network.
Racing will take center stage Friday through Sunday with the King of Factory Stocks at the racetrack. Barker said the weekend will feature a $10,000 prize and is expected to bring visitors to Cochran.
“It’s a big thing for us in Cochran as far as tourism is concerned coming up this weekend,” Barker said.
The Chamber will also host a free Lunch and Learn at noon September 9 at Alderman Hall. Barker said the session will focus on innovative uses of artificial intelligence and ways small businesses can use the technology.
Live music returns to the courthouse lawn September 12 for the final concert of the season. The Last Living Souls will perform, and food trucks will be available.
Barker said attendees can bring blankets or chairs and spread out on the courthouse lawn. The music begins at 7 p.m.
The Chamber is also preparing for one of its biggest annual events. Barker announced the Harvest Festival is returning to its original name, the Great Pumpkin Festival.
The festival is scheduled for October 17 and will include vendors, food trucks and a vehicle show featuring cars, motorcycles and Jeeps.
Barker said more than 12,000 people made their way through downtown Cochran during last year’s event.
“We’re really hoping that we’ll have that and more this year because, you know, I like to grow things every year,” Barker said.
